Sue Collins is an actress, comedian and writer from Dublin whose work has taken her from the Royal Albert Hall to the Gate Theatre, with millions of laughs online along the way.
She began her comedy career in 1995 as a co-founder of The Nualas, the musical comedy trio that became a hit around the world. They played the Olympia and Gaiety theatres in Dublin, the Irish Arts Center in New York, the Melbourne, Adelaide and Singapore comedy festivals and six years at the Edinburgh Festival. They had a four-week run at the Lyric Hammersmith and a 64-date UK tour that ended at the Royal Albert Hall. On television they appeared on The Late Late Show (RTÉ) and on the BBC's The Ned Sherrin Show, Edinburgh Nights, The Stand-Up Show and The Arts Show, and they wrote and performed two six-part series for BBC Radio 4.
From 2016 to 2025 Sue and Sinéad Culbert were DirtBirds, the comedy duo that became an internet hit with sketches drawn from everyday life. Together they wrote, performed and produced four tours across Ireland and the UK, wrote DirtBirds' Self-Help Guide (Hachette Ireland) and made the podcast Dangerous Irish Women.
As an actress, Sue is best known as the colourful Teri in Fair City (RTÉ). Her other screen credits include Raw, Soupy Norman, The Centre and Mattie for RTÉ, The School Run for TV3, and Badly Drawn Roy and Vexed for the BBC. She starred alongside Pat Shortt in RTÉ's mock-documentary comedy pilot Inside the Crystal Ball, and recently appeared at the Gate Theatre in the sell-out production of Poor, adapted from Katriona O'Sullivan's memoir.
Every week Sue reunites with fellow Nuala Anne Gildea on their podcast, The Sue, Anne Half Hourish Show. Throughout 2027 she tours her brand-new solo comedy show, In The Now. She lives in Dublin with her husband and four children.
